IPL schedule: fresh list sent for approval

Chennai: BCCI secretary N. Srinivasan informed The Hindu here on Tuesday that a fresh list of dates for the conduct of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been sent to the Home Ministry. It has been reliably learnt that Nagpur and Dharamshala are among the venues.

The BCCI team, led by Mr. Srinivasan, held a 90-minute meeting with the Special Secretary (Internal Security) Raman Srivastava in New Delhi on Monday. The Home Ministry had maintained it would be hard to spare para-military forces for the tournament due to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The Home Ministry had asked the BCCI panel to re-work the schedule with the State Governments. — Special Correspondent
